For beginners
Starting boxing? What you need to know before your first class

Nervous before your first boxing class? That’s completely normal! Here’s everything you need to know to feel safe, excited and ready to step into the world of boxing.
1. You don’t need any experience
Many people think you have to be fit, fast or strong to start – but that’s not true. People of all levels train with us, and our beginner-friendly environment gets you into both technique and pace quickly. Good first classes are Fundamentals, Womens Class and Basics & Burn.
2. Bring the right things (it’s easier than you think!)
All you really need is training clothes, a water bottle and an open mind! Have your own boxing gloves? Bring them – otherwise you can borrow at the club.
3. It’s about technique – not power
You won’t be “letting loose” in your first class. The focus is on technique, footwork and learning the basics safely. We work with pads, shadow boxing and simple combinations in pairs. It’s fun, sweaty and you’ll learn a lot!
4. Everyone is nervous at the start
It can feel jittery to walk into a new place – we get it. But you’re not alone. Our coaches and members are used to beginners and will bring you straight into the group. No egos here, just good energy.
5. You’ll want to come back
Your first class is about getting a feel for it. But we’re warning you: many people are hooked after just one session. Boxing doesn’t just make your body stronger – it builds confidence, community and joy.
