5 things you (might) not know about boxing

Boxing isn’t just a sport – it’s a way of thinking, feeling and growing. Here are five unexpected (and really good!) things that make boxing unique.
1. Boxing is more about your feet than your hands
It may sound strange, but your foot position often matters more than your hands. Everything starts in the feet – balance, power and your ability to avoid punches. That’s why our coaches keep going on about footwork. A skilled boxer is never still, always one step ahead.
2. It burns a lot of energy (and it’s fun!)
Want to sweat with style and energy? An hour of boxing works your whole body. You jump, punch, duck and step – and before you know it you’ve done the most fun (and toughest) workout of your day. Try Punch & Burn, for example.
3. You don’t have to compete to feel like a fighter
At Limitless we train with competition at heart – but it’s never a requirement. Many of our members box for the workout, the community, the confidence and the joy. You decide your own journey. Want to compete? Read what it takes to compete for us.
4. Boxing trains your brain – not just your body
Memorising combinations, reacting fast and reading your opponent is a real brain workout. It’s not just your muscles that sweat – your brain works too. Many describe the feeling as meditation in motion: fully present, fully focused.
5. Anyone can start – really
You don’t need to be fit, fast or strong the first time you walk in. You’ll get there. Boxing builds you up, step by step. With us you’ll find young and older, beginners and experienced – all with the same drive: to improve and have fun.
